BCA adds AirTrunk's Robin Khuda and Telstra's Vicki Brady to board
The news: The Business Council of Australia (BCA) has appointed AirTrunk founder and CEO Robin Khuda, and Telstra CEO and managing director Vicki Brady, as directors of its board.
The context: BCA president Geoff Culbert said Khuda's experience as an entrepreneur in hyperscale data centres will help the BCA's mission to help Australia become a regional hub for innovation in areas like AI.
Khuda led the completion of the world's largest ever data centre deal when Blackstone acquired AirTrunk in a $24 billion deal last year.
Culbert also welcomed Brady, acknowledging her experience in digital connectivity, technology, skills, and critical infrastructure. He said her knowledge will support furthering Australia’s productivity agenda.
The BCA board already includes the chief executives of Commonwealth Bank, Woodside Energy, Wesfarmers and Rio Tinto Australia, among others.
What they said: “With the appointment of these two exceptional leaders, the BCA is doubling down on the critical growth drivers in the Australian economy of digital infrastructure, connectivity, and AI,” said Culbert.
Khuda commented: “It’s an honour to join the board of the Business Council and contribute to public policy advocacy that shapes a stronger, more resilient and forward-looking economy”.
Brady said: “I’m pleased to join the BCA Board at a time when business leadership is so fundamentally important in building a stronger future for all Australians, and the role of technology and AI is so central to that vision”.
