Bendigo and Adelaide Bank unveils leadership changes
The news: Bendigo and Adelaide Bank has made changes to its executive team, including widening the remit of Up CEO Xavier Shay, as part of efforts to accelerate its digital capability and improve customer experience.
The context: Bendigo has appointed Shay as the bank's chief digital officer in addition to his current role as CEO of Up, the neobank co-created and ultimately acquired by Bendigo in 2021.
The bank said Shay will bring together the group's digital capabilities and will be responsible for driving greater penetration of digital offerings across the Bendigo and Up brands.
Elsewhere, Taso Corolis has been appointed chief customer officer of consumer banking, with a focus on continuing to drive portfolio growth and productivity enhancements, having served as the bank's chief risk officer since 2018.
Current marketing general manager Sarah Bateson has been appointed chief marketing officer to form a new brand, marketing and communications division.
What they said: “We have entered the financial year with momentum and growth on our side,” said Bendigo's new CEO and managing director Richard Fennell.
“This has been made possible by the strong foundations we have created by simplifying, modernising and digitising the bank,” he said. “The time is right to accelerate the next phase of our development by continuing to invest in the areas that will help us deliver sustainable growth such as our digital bank Up, the Bendigo lending platform and the business and agri transformation.”
