Betashares launches new private assets offering
The news: Financial services company Betashares has announced the launch of a new private assets offering, and partnered with US-based fund manager Cliffwater as part of the initiative.
The context: Through its new dedicated division, Betashares Private Capital, the company said it will partner with global private asset managers to deliver institutional-grade private market investment solutions to wholesale investors, Australian financial advisors and their clients.
The first partnership is with Cliffwater, which will offer access to its flagship US private credit strategy.
Betashares’ first private credit exposure is expected to launch in late August.
What they said: Betashares founder and chief executive Alex Vynokur commented: “Despite the increased demand for private assets, Australia remains relatively underserved by high quality, global investment options.
“We believe there is a real opportunity to address this gap, and with that enable Australian investors and their financial advisers to have the opportunity to improve risk adjusted returns in portfolios by including robust, diversified private asset investments.”
