Blackstone had been competing with a consortium that included IFM, DigitalBridge, Global Infrastructure Partners and Silver Lake Management.
In 2020, a consortium led by Macquarie Asia Infrastructure Fund 2 (MAIF2), including PSP Investments, acquired a major stake in the business valued at about $3 billion. AirTrunk’s founder and CEO Robin Khuda is also an investor.
