BlueScope appoints long-time exec Robin Davies as local CEO
The news: Steelmaker BlueScope has promoted long-serving executive Robin Davies as chief executive of the company’s Australian and New Zealand businesses, effective 1 July.
The numbers: Davies will lead over 8,500 employees across BlueScope’s Australian Steel Products, and New Zealand and Pacific Islands divisions.
During nearly 20 years at BlueScope, Davies has led the expansion of the group’s flagship US facility, North Star, and currently oversees the New Zealand and Pacific Islands businesses.
What they said: “As BlueScope transitions its major capital spend program to operational execution as a lean agile manufacturer, now is the right time for us to consolidate leadership of the Australian and New Zealand businesses,” said BlueScope managing director and CEO Tania Archibald.
