The news: Uranium miner Boss Energy has added ex-EY partner Joanne Palmer and Paladin Energy's former legal manager Caroline Keats to its board as non-executive directors.

The context: Palmer was an equity partner at accounting giant EY for 15 years. She currently serves as a non-executive director of ASX-listed Karoon Energy, St Barbara and New Murchison Gold. She was also previously on the board of uranium rival Paladin.

Keats has nearly 15 years' experience in the mining industry in Australia and abroad, including a stint as Paladin's legal affairs manager from 2008 to 2011.

Boss also announced that Bryn Jones will retire as non-executive of the company, effective today. Jones was appointed to the board as technical director in 2019, having been a consultant at the company's flagship Honeymoon project since its pre-feasibility study in 2016. He has served as a non-executive at Boss since August 2021.

What they said: "Boss has undergone a highly successful transition from project developer to uranium producer and the appointments of these outstanding directors reflect the company's evolving needs, circumstances and outlook," said Boss chairman Wyatt Buck.

On Jones' exit, Buck said: "His technical skills and experience in uranium production were central to devising and executing our re-start strategy.

"On behalf of the board, I wish him all the best as he applies his extensive knowledge to his next scientific and commercial pursuits."
