The news: Software company Bravura Solutions reported higher first-half net profit and declared a lift in dividends from the prior corresponding period.

The numbers: The company posted $25.9 million in net profit for the six months to December, an increase from $14.6 million a year earlier.

Underlying customer revenue rose 9.8% year-on-year to $140 million. It declared an interim unfranked dividend of 5.77 cents per share and a special dividend of 4.46 cents.

The context: Following the results, newly appointed CEO Colin Greenhill formally commenced his role on 1 January.

The company said it has begun two major projects and reached agreement on its expansion in the UK market.

It added that growth with existing customers has offset the impact of a previously announced customer attrition event on January, as well as less favourable foreign exchange rate expectations.
