The news: Australian cryptocurrency exchange BTC Markets has announced the departure of chief executive Caroline Bowler after more than five years in the role.
The numbers: Bowler is due to leave BTC Markets on 8 August, but will continue as acting CEO until her successor is appointed.
The context: BTC Markets — a digital asset exchange founded in 2013 — said it "looks forward to the next chapter of growth with a renewed focus on strategic innovation, regulatory alignment and customer-focused product development."
What they said: "Leading BTC Markets has been the best job in crypto and an incredible privilege, especially navigating through the tough bear market years," Bowler said.
"Part of the role of a CEO is to help the business navigate difficult terrain — but another part is knowing when the time is right to step aside and pass the baton. That time is now."
