Bupa to acquire Partnered Health Group to expand footprint in Australia
The news: Global health insurer Bupa has agreed to acquire Partnered Health Group and its network of integrated healthcare service, in a strategic bid to expand its footprint in Australia’s health ecosystem.
The context: The acquisition, subject to regulatory approval, will include 68 primary care clinics and three urgent care clinics. The transaction will add Partnered Health’s national network of general practices, skin cancer, allied health and mental health clinics to Bupa’s growing health services footprint across Australia.
Bupa currently operates 32 medical and 13 Mindplace clinics, alongside its existing dental, optical and hearing services nationwide.
The acquisition remains subject to clearance from the ACCC, the Foreign Investment Review Board, and other customary conditions.
