Capstone Copper rallies after reporting 22% production lift
The news: Capstone Copper shares surged after the copper miner reported a 22% year-on-year increase in copper production in 2025 to 224,764 tonnes, driven by the ramp-up of its Mantoverde development and its Mantos Blancos debottlenecking project.
Shares rose 7.81% to $15.74 per share at 1:31pm AEDT.
The context: Capstone produced 58,273 tonnes of copper in the December quarter, marking a quarterly record for the company.
Its Mantoverde operation in Chile delivered a 65% increase in annual production in 2025 to 95,115 tonnes, driven by the ramp up of its sulphide concentrator.
Meanwhile, production at the Mantos Blancos project rose 39% year-on-year to 61,919 tonnes, exceeding its 2025 production guidance range.
Capstone is scheduled to release its full-year 2025 results on 2 March.
