Catalyst Metals chair David Jones to be replaced by Mark Connelly in March
The news: Catalyst Metals chair David Jones will be replaced by Mark Connelly as a director and chair of the gold miner’s board, effective 2 March.
The context: A transition period will take place over February 2026. Connelly was chair of Warriedar Resources when it was acquired by Capricorn Metal in November 2025.
He was previously chair of Alto Resources in 2024 when it was acquired by Brightstar Resources for $80 million. In 2014, Connelly was the Papillon Resources managing director and CEO when it acquired B2Gold Corporation for USD570 million ($820.83 million).
Jones is chair of VGI Partners Global Investments and of executive and board search business Derwent. He sits on the board of the Clean Energy Finance Corporation, is on the investment committee of EMR Capital and is an advisor to ALIUM Capital.
