CATL signs battery recycling agreement with ASX-listed Livium
The news: CATL HK, a subsidiary of the world’s largest lithium-ion battery manufacturer, has executed a recycling services framework agreement with Envirostream, a subsidiary of ASX-listed small cap Livium.
The context: The agreement formalises an existing working relationship in which Envirostream provides battery recycling services on a purchase order basis to CATL.
It will be delivered in Australia, with the potential for New Zealand, to support end-of-life battery management requirements. CATL products are being deployed in grid-scale batteries across Australia.
Under an initial term to 15 May 2029, Envirostream will provide battery collection, logistics, recycling and certification, and reporting services.
Services will be delivered under individual purchase orders as the agreement does not include minimum volume commitments, exclusivity or pricing arrangements.
What they said: “Formalising our relationship with CATL is an important milestone for Livium. CATL is the global leader in lithium-ion battery manufacturing, and this agreement reflects their confidence in Envirostream’s recycling capabilities and operational standards,” Livium CEO and managing director Simon Linge said.
