Champion Iron CFO Donald Tremblay to depart

The news: Champion Iron has announced that its chief financial officer Donald Tremblay will step down after the release of the company’s second quarter results for FY25.

The context: After Tremblay leaves and before a replacement is found, the CFO responsibilities will be overseen by some of the other executives.

Tremblay has been in the CFO role since September 2022. He has previously held a CFO position at the Iron Ore Company of Canada, TransAlta and Brookfield Renewable Energy Group.

What they said: Champion Iron CEO David Cataford said that Donald “participated in the achievement of several milestones” for the company, “strengthened the finance team and oversaw the implementation of improvements to our accounting processes, increasing our efficiency and productivity”.
