Champion Iron names new CFO and chief legal officer to board

The news: Champion Iron has appointed Steve Boucratie as its chief legal and strategy officer, alongside naming Michael Marcotte as chief financial officer, with both appointments taking effect immediately.

The context: Boucratie previously served as senior vice president of general counsel and corporate security for Champion Iron, having been with the company since 2019 and bringing over 15 years in senior management experience in the mining sector. His new role will task him with overseeing the company’s legal affairs as well as contributing to its corporate strategy and long-term growth initiatives.

Marcotte joined Champion in 2018 and most recently held the position of senior vice president of corporate development and capital markets. He brings more than 15 years’ experience across the financial industry.
