Cleanaway chair to retire, director Samantha Hogg named successor

The news: Cleanaway Waste Management has announced the retirement of chair Philippe Etienne, and named current board director Samantha Hogg chair-elect.

The context: Etienne joined the board in 2014 and has served as chair since 2023. He will retire from the board “at or around” the company’s annual general meeting on 22 October, at which point Hogg will assume the position.

Hogg, who joined the Cleanaway board in 2019, previously held senior executive roles at Transurban Group and Western Mining Company.

She is currently chair of Syrah Resources, and a non-executive director of Graincorp and IGO.
