Collins Foods appoints Xavier Simonet as CEO
The news: Collins Foods has appointed Xavier Simonet as its new CEO and managing director, starting on 4 November, 2024.
The context: Collins’ former CEO Drew O’Malley has been on a leave of absence since February, and its previous CEO Kevin Perkins has been leading the company on an interim basis since then. Perkins will resume his non-executive director role.
Simonet is currently the CEO of Austrade, a government agency. Prior to that, he was the group CEO and managing director of Kathmandu Holdings.
What they said: Collins Foods chair Robert Kaye said Simonet’s “track record reflects his capability to successfully grow international brands and businesses while working collaboratively with multiple stakeholders”.
Simonet said: “The opportunity to grow Collins Foods and its world class brands, which are synonymous with customer value and great tasting food, is compelling”.
“I am very much looking forward to working with the board and entire team of more than 20,000 employees across Australia and Europe as we strive to continue to set new standards in QSR [quick service restaurant] excellence.”
