Contact Energy considers $183m green capital bond offer
The news: New Zealand utilities company Contact Energy is considering making an offer of up to NZD200 million ($183 million) of unsecured subordinated green capital bonds to institutional investors and New Zealand retail investors.
The numbers: Contact shares were up 2.1% to $7.40 on the ASX by 12:30pm AEST.
The context: The proceeds of the offer will be used by dual-listed Contact for the financing and refinancing of renewable generation and other eligible green assets, the company said.
It is expected that full details of the offer will be released during the week beginning 23 September, when the offer is scheduled to open.
Forsyth Barr, Bank of New Zealand and Craigs Investment Partners will act as joint lead managers for the proposed offer.
