Credit Suisse's Will Farrant joins Ares as partner

The news: Credit Suisse Australia executive Will Farrant has joined investment manager Ares Credit Management as a partner and will head alternative credit investing in Australia and New Zealand. Farrant has worked for Credit Suisse for the past 18 years, and was most recently managing director, head of APAC securitised products.

The numbers: Ares Management Corporation has roughly $378 billion of assets under management globally, with 2,600 employees across the Asia Pacific, North America, Europe and the Middle East.

The context: Ares is a New York Stock Exchange-listed alternative asset manager providing primary and secondary investments across asset classes including credit, private equity, real estate and infrastructure.

What they said: "We are excited to welcome Will and leverage the depth of his experience to invest in asset-focused opportunities across the Australia and New Zealand market," Ares Asia head and partner Edwin Wong said in a statement.
