The news: Jason Weate has been appointed Dexus Asset Management’s head of listed funds and will commence as the new fund manager of the Dexus Industria REIT (DXI) on 1 November 2025.

The context: Weate will replace the existing fund manager of DXI Gordon Korkie who will stay with the fund as deputy fund manager.

Korkie had commenced as DXI fund manager in February 2024 after more than two and a half years as DXI's assistant fund manager.

Weate is currently the fund manager for the Dexus Convenience Retail REIT (DXC), which he has held since joining the company in 2022.

Pat De Maria will replace Weate as fund manager of DXC. De Maria initially joined APN Property Group in 2018 before it was acquired by Dexus in 2021 and currently works as a transactions and investment strategy manager.

What they said: “Jason’s extensive experience within direct property and A-REIT capital markets will benefit DXI as it strives to deliver its next phase of growth,” Dexus executive general manager, funds management, Michael Sheffield said.

“We thank Gordon for his continued role in the evolution of DXI to a focused Australian industrial REIT.”

Sheffield also said “the appointments demonstrate our commitment to succession planning across the Platform”.
