Domino's rejects reports of Bain Capital takeover proposal

More news: Domino’s Pizza has denied being approached by Bain Capital following a media report linking the pizza chain to a buyout.

“DMP confirms that, as far as it is aware, it has not received any proposal from Bain Capital or had any communication with that organisation,” the company said in an ASX release.

Shares in the company were up 17.4% before pausing trading this morning.

The Australian Financial Review had reported that Bain was looking into a deal to acquire all or part of Domino's.

Domino's pauses trading after shares surge 17%

The news: Pizza chain Domino's has paused trading on the ASX after seeing its shares surge 17.4% in morning trade.

The numbers: Domino's Pizza Enterprises shares were up to $18.13 at around 11:20am AEDT, at the time of the announcement. The stock is down around 50% over the last 12 months.
