Domino's Pizza adds Super Retail chair Judith Swales to board

The news: Domino's Pizza has appointed Super Retail chair Judith Swales as an independent non-executive director, starting 24 February.
The context: The appointment coincides with the retirement of longstanding director Grant Bourke after nearly 25 years on the board.
Bourke became a Domino's franchisee in 1993 before becoming a director in 2001. He was on the board when the company listed on the ASX in 2005 and became a non-executive director in 2007.
Swales has previously served as CEO of global markets at Fonterra, managing director of Heinz Australia, and CEO and managing director of Goodyear Dunlop in Australia and New Zealand. She has also served on the board of Virgin Australia, DuluxGroup and Fosters.
Domino's said it has started a search for an additional non-executive director as part of its ongoing board renewal process.
What they said: "I've been fortunate to have worked alongside Grant for more than 30 years, and throughout he has demonstrated his passion for the Domino's board, our franchise partners, and the potential of this business," said Domino's chairman Jack Cowin.
"Judith is one of the most experienced retail executives and directors in Australia, and will add her expertise in large-scale operations, brand stewardship and governance in our deliberations."
