Downer wins new $220m Defence contract
The news: Infrastructure group Downer EDI has been awarded a $220 million professional services contract to support the delivery of critical projects for the Department of Defence.
The numbers: The new agreement, issued under Downer's existing contract with Defence, is for an initial term of two years, with two one-year extension options.
The contract starts on 1 September and is valued at $220 million over the full four-year term.
The context: Under the contract, Downer will provide a range of professional services to support Defence's Capability, Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) with the delivery of joint command, control, communications, and computers (C4) sytems branch projects
What they said: "This contract extension reflects our proven credentials and we look forward to continuing our strong relationship with the Department of Defence - providing high calibre, scalable and flexible support to Defence in the achievement of its mission, now and into the future," said Downer CEO Peter Tompkins.
