The news: Theme park operator Ardent Leisure Group will trade as Coast Entertainment Holdings from Monday, as the business tries to move on from the Dreamworld deaths of 2016.

Shareholders at an annual general meeting recently approved the decision to change the business and stock name.

The context: Ardent Leisure has endured years of regulatory scrutiny, shareholder frustration and underwhelming financial performance since four people died on the Thunder River Rapids ride.

The executives at the time were found to not have managed safety properly and the business was fined $3.6 million in 2020.

Ardent recently settled a shareholder class action and posted its first full-year profit since the deaths.

What they said: "There is no change to the ownership, structure or operations of the group or the Dreamworld, Whitewater World or SkyPoint businesses," the company said in a statement.
