DroneShield appoints two new board members
The news: Sydney defence tech company DroneShield has announced the appointment of Richard Joffe and Simone Haslinger as independent non-executive directors to its board.
The context: Joffe is currently founder and CEO of Sydney-based Honey Insurance, which launched in 2021, having previously had stints as a consultant at McKinsey & Company and as an investment banker at Morgan Stanley.
Haslinger has 20 years of investment banking experience, most recently as Australia's co-head of equity capital markets for JP Morgan, after serving as an equity capital markets executive at Deutsche Bank.
Both Joffe and Haslinger are due to start the board appointments on 9 October.
What they said: "As DroneShield continues to significantly scale in size and maturity, we welcome Richard and Simon to the board, with their unique and extensive experiences complementing the existing board skillset," said DroneShield's independent non-executive chair Peter James.
"DroneShield will continue to augment its military and specialist skillsets and experience via advisory board and consulting positions," he said.
