The news: DroneShield shares fell in morning trade as the counterdrone company announced a software update for sensor and effector technologies.

The numbers: At 10:49am AEDT, shares in DroneShield were down 0.91% to $6.01 but were still up 88.71% over the last month and 701.33% in the year to date.

The context: Among the developments included in the software update are an expansion of the radio frequency emitter database for the RFAI-2 detection and tracking technology, new emitter-based disruption engine powered by DroneShield’s RFAI-AT technology and doubling the processing power for the drone detection and tracking platform DroneSentry-X Mk2.

All DroneShield sensors are also now compatible with SAPIENT, a counter unmanned aerial system open integration protocol.

What they said: “Five years ago, we recognised that counter-UAS is fundamentally a data-driven challenge. That is why we began building what we believe is now the world’s largest proprietary drone signal database," DroneShield chief product and technology officer Angus Bean said.
