EBOS lifts stake in Transmedic to 90%
The news: Christchurch-headquartered medical product wholesaler and distributor EBOS has increased its stake in Southeast Asian medical device distributor Transmedic from 51% to 90%.
The numbers: EBOS acquired its initial interest in Transmedic via its 2022 LifeHealthcare acquisition and paid SGD119 million ($135 million) for the extra 39%. Transmedic has a presence in seven countries including its headquartered Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, Hong Kong and Vietnam. EBOS shares were trading 0.7% higher early in the session, fetching $33.42.
The context: The buyup comes less than a month after EBOS abandoned plans to acquire pet care business Greencross for $3.75 billion.
