Evion Group adds ex-ambassador Arthur Sinodinos as adviser
The news: Graphite developer Evion Group has appointed former Australian Ambassador to the United States, Arthur Sinodinos, as a strategic adviser to support the company’s US critical minerals strategy and North American expansion initiatives.
The context: Sinodinos served as ambassador from 2020 to 2023. He was previously Minister for Industry, Innovation and Science (2017), Cabinet Secretary (2015-2017), and Assistant Treasurer (2013-2014).
He is currently a strategic adviser to US-based critical minerals investment group Cove Capital.
The appointment follows Evion’s acquisition of the Carp Fluorspar Project in Nevada.
What they said: “Arthur brings extensive diplomatic, government and strategic engagement experience across both Australia and the United States, at a time when allied governments are moving decisively to secure Western-aligned critical minerals supply chains, including through the recently announced Quad Critical Minerals Initiative Framework,” said Evion managing director David Round.
Sinodinos commented: “Fluorspar and graphite are both critical minerals underpinning semiconductor, nuclear, battery and advanced industrial applications.
“Evion’s combination of US fluorspar through the Carp Project in Nevada and established graphite mining and downstream processing across Madagascar, India and Europe gives the company a genuinely integrated position across allied jurisdictions, and I look forward to support its broader North American and international growth strategy.”
