Ex-AMP Australia CEO Scott Hartley to lead Insignia
The news: Former AMP Australia CEO Scott Hartley has been appointed to head up Insignia Financial, replacing Renato Mota.
The numbers: Hartley will commence his role on 1 March and will join the firm from 26 February. Mota was at Insignia for 20 years and had been CEO and managing director for five of those years.
The context: Hartley had been CEO of AMP Australia since January 2021 but exited in December 2023 following a restructure that saw AMP sell its funds management arm to Dexus and Macquarie in two separate deals.
Mota announced he would step down from the role in October 2023 and said it was the “right inflection point to provide the business with fresh perspective to continue the journey”.
Hartley will also join the Insignia Financial board as executive director.
What they said: “Insignia Financial is uniquely positioned in the industry, with capabilities in advice, platforms, superannuation, and asset management, and a strong client focused culture which can be leveraged create value for all stakeholders, including shareholders, clients, advisers and members,” Hartley said.
“Insignia has an exciting future and I look forward to working with the Insignia team to accelerate execution of Insignia’s strategy.”
