First Sentier Group promotes Harry Moore to CEO

The news: First Sentier Group will promote its chief commercial officer Harry Moore to the chief executive role, effective 1 January 2026.

The context: Moore will replace incumbent Mark Steinberg who intends to step down at the end of the year, after seven years with the group.

Moore first joined First Sentier Group in 2010 before being appointed managing director of Australia, New Zealand and Japan in 2019. He was appointed chief commercial officer in January 2025.

First Sentier Group was acquired by Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation from Commonwealth Bank in 2019.

What they said: “We are very pleased to make this an internal appointment. Harry brings significant experience from his various senior leadership and executive roles within the Group,” Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Banking Corporation’s asset management and investor services business unit head Takafumi Ihara said.

“His extensive understanding of our business and its operations, coupled with his strong relationships with our shareholders, our clients and our investment teams, along with his in-depth knowledge of asset management and markets, make him an excellent fit for this role.”
