The news: Auckland-based respiratory support manufacturer Fisher & Paykel Healthcare has appointed Anna Curzon as a non-executive director, effective 1 February. The announcement follows the retirement of former non-executive director Pip Greenwood.

The company also announced the appointment of Margie Apa as a participant in its Future Director programme, effective 1 February.

The context: Anna Curzon is currently a director at Gallagher Holdings, Kiwibank and Jade Software Corporation, and serves as chair of Atomic.io. She has more than 25 years of experience in leadership and advisory roles across technology companies. Fisher & Paykel's board has determined that Curzon will be an independent director.

Margie Apa will participate in the Future Directors programme, designed to provide senior executives with exposure to board-level governance while enabling the board to access a broader range of skills and experience.

Apa has over 20 years of executive leadership experience in the health sector, including serving as CEO of Te Whatu Ora Health in New Zealand. She currently sits on the board of World Vision International and is a trustee of World Vision New Zealand.
