Fletcher Building secures 10-year contract with New Zealand transport agency
The news: Building supplier Fletcher Building has secured a 10-year contract with New Zealand Transport Agency Waka Kotahi (NZTA) to maintain sections of the state highway, effective from April 2026.
The context: Under the agreement, Fletcher Building’s subsidiary, Higgins Contractors will maintain highways across the East Waikato, Bay of Plenty and Hawke’s Bay located in New Zealand.
The contract follows the company’s recent agreement on 20 January to sell its construction division, worth NZD315.6 million ($273.2 million), to international construction group Vinci Construction.
What they said: “Securing the integrated delivery contracts is a significant milestone for Higgin Contractors and a great outcome for the construction division more broadly. These contracts provide a strong platform for the business over the next 10 years,” Fletcher Building CEO Andrew Reding said.
