The news: Financial services company Generation Development Group has flagged a cyber incident at its subsidiary Generation Life.

The context: GDF said Generation Life is “responding to a contained cyber incident involving unauthorised access to a limited part of its network”.

It said this access occurred via a third-party service provider, Generation Life had detected it quickly and the situation had been contained.

The market update from GDG said there has been no evidence “at this stage” of any impact on Generation Life’s core systems nor any evidence of unauthorised transactions, with minimal disruption to operations.

The Evidentia Group and Lonsec Research and ratings systems have not been impacted.
