Genesis Minerals among biggest ASX 200 losers after board change

The news: Gold miner Genesis Minerals was one of the biggest losers on the ASX 200 in afternoon trading, after announcing board director Karen Lloyd is being replaced by Jane Macey effective immediately.

The numbers: At 1:38pm AEST shares in Genesis Minerals had fallen 2.7% to $4.65.

The context: Board director Karen Lloyd is retiring from her role, which she has held since April 2024.

She is being replaced by Jane Macey whose most recent executive role was general manager of BHP’s West Musgrave copper and nickel project in Western Australia.

BHP’s nickel operations in Western Australia, which includes the West Musgrave project, have been suspended since October 2024 with Macey vacating her role in March 2025.
