The news: Gentrack chief executive Gary Miles has pocketed NZD17.3 million ($15.05 million) after his FY25 pay grew nearly fivefold to make him the most highly paid CEO on the New Zealand exchange – and among the highest on the ASX.

The numbers: The dual-listed utilities software provider published its 2025 annual report on Monday, revealing that a string of vested incentives had seen Miles' remuneration rise.

He received a fixed base of NZD947,000 on top of around NZD16.35 million in vested long-term incentives, the maximum on offer after Gentrack's share price surged well over the NZD2.14 hurdle rate and Miles completed his first five years in the role.

Those incentives were Miles' last of a package put together in 2020, when he took over as CEO of the company, and granted in 2022.

The final figure was well up on Miles' FY24 total remuneration of NZD3.67 million. The report said that Miles and his executive team all donated their bonuses to the broader employee bonus pool.

Gentrack shares were trading at around $7.46 on Monday, up 477% over the last five years.
