The news: Gold Road Resources has reported record profit and sales for the year to December on the back of increased production and higher gold prices.

The numbers: Net profit for the 12 months to December rose 23.3% to $142.7 million, while revenue was up 11.8% to $528 million. It will pay a final dividend of 1.5 cents a share, taking total payout for the year to 2 cents a share.

The context: The miner’s strong result comes despite missing its annual production guidance after heavy rainfall affected operations during March and April. The ASX-listed firm owns a 50% interest in the Gruyere gold mine in Western Australia that it owns jointly with the mine’s operator, Gold Fields. Gold Road is now forecasting production of 325,000 to 355,000 ounces of gold at Gruyere for 2025.
