The news: S&P Dow Jones Indices has announced changes to the S&P/ASX Indices, effective from 23 September, which will see HUB24 and Sandfire Resources added to the ASX 100 Index.

The context: Wealth platform HUB24 and metal miner Sandfire Resources will be added to the ASX 100 Index, while Domino's Pizza Enterprises and Arcadium Lithium will be removed.

Meanwhile, ASX newcomer Guzman y Gomez, gold miner Westgold Resources and coal producer Yancoal Australia will be added to the ASX 200 Index.

Real estate platform Domain, medical equipment maker Nanosonics and gas explorer Strike Energy will drop out of the ASX 200.

There were no changes to the ASX 20 Index or the ASX 50 Index.

The ASX 100 and ASX 200 indices track the largest 100 and 200 listed companies on the Australian sharemarket.

Once every three months on behalf of the ASX, S&P Dow Jones Indices reviews the ASX 100 and ASX 200 indices to see if they still reflect the largest 100 and 200 companies by market capitalisation and if not, make adjustments ahead of the upcoming quarter.
