IGO completes sale of Forrestania Nickel Operations to Medallion Metals
The news: IGO has announced the completion of the asset sale of Forrestania Nickel Operations (FNO) to Medallion Metals, previously announced on 4 August 2025.
The context: Under the agreement, Medallion will acquire a 100% interest in Forrestania, including its Cosmic Boy processing plant. IGO will receive around 1.5% in royalties returned on future gold production from the FNO tenements, with no upfront or deferred payments.
Following the sale completion, IGO said it will continue to explore options to rationalise other assets in the company’s portfolio, including the cosmos site and infrastructure.
What they said: “This transaction reflects IGO’s strategy to continue to pursue opportunities to reduce ongoing costs and unlock value from our assets while retaining optionality in lithium and nickel”, IGO CEO Ivan Vella said.
“IGO will continue to explore other opportunities to unlock value from our portfolio, where aligned to our business model and growth strategy focused on battery minerals,” he added.
