IMDEX seals Datarock acquisition for $31m
The news: Mining services company IMDEX has completed the acquisition of the remaining equity in Australia-based geoscience software group Datarock for $31 million.
The numbers: IMDEX previously acquired a 51% interest in Datarock through incremental investments between November 2021 and July 2024.
The context: IMDEX has worked with Datarock for over four years. Chief executive Paul House said the acquisition was a "defining step" in the company's digital strategy across the mining and earth science sectors.
What they said: "Datarock's technology is highly scalable, cloud-native, and AI-enabled — complementing our portfolio alongside Earth Science Analytics and Krux Analytics," said House.
"Together, these technologies will materially expand our digital offering in FY26 and position it as a primary growth engine for our business."
