The news: Casino operator SkyCity Entertainment has advised that South Australia's Liquor and Gambling Commission has agreed to an extension time for the completion of justice Brian Martin's independent review into its Adelaide casino.
The numbers: Martin is now expected to complete his report by the end of May 2025, pushed back from the previous deadline of 31 December 2024.
SkyCity shares had edged up 0.4% to $1.32 by 3:45pm AEDT as the ASX 200 shed 0.52%.
The context: SkyCity noted that "it is possible that Mr Martin's findings may be unfavourable". However, the company said it is not possible to determine the outcome of the independent review and what regulatory action might be applied to SkyCity and its Adelaide casino.
