Inditex, H&M, Sephora pay $596,000 in financial reporting failure
The news: Major fashion and beauty retailers Inditex, H&M Hennes & Mauritz and Sephora Australia have paid infringement notices totalling $596,000 to the corporate regulator ASIC for failing to meet a financial reporting deadline.
The numbers: Each retailer paid $198,000 to ASIC for the reporting failure, the regulator said in a statement.
Inditex had failed to lodge a report for the financial year ending 31 January 2025.
H&M had failed to lodge a report for the financial year ending 30 November 2025, and Sephora Australia missed a deadline for the financial year ending 31 December 2024.
The context: Since a surveillance announced in August 2025, ASIC has issued 24 infringement notices over alleged financial reporting breaches, totalling over $4.5 million in fines.
