The news: NZ-listed infrastructure investor Infratil's stake in CDC Data Centres is worth $448 million more than six months ago following an updated independent valuation.

The numbers: Infratil’s 47.99% stake in CDC is now valued somewhere between $3.6 billion and $4.2 billion with a midpoint of $3.9 billion, up 13% on the previous valuation in March 2023.

The context: Infratil chief executive Jason Boyes said new demand growth for artificial intelligence services had boosted CDC's expectations to accelerate and expand development planning for its data centres.
