The news: Infrastructure investor Infratil's part-owned data centre developer CDC has seen a $349 million increase in its valuation over the last three months, according to a new independent valuation.

The numbers: CDC's new valuation stands at $14 billion, with Infratil's 49.72% interest valued at $6.954 billion, up $174 million from $6.780 billion at 30 September.

The context: Infratil said CDC's valuation increase was supported by an additional 40 megawatts of previously announced contracted capacity, in addition to 196 megawatts of built operating capacity.

Infratil — which hiked its stake in CDC in February last year — confirmed that the data centre developer had secured 100 megawatts of new contracted capacity in September.
