James Hardie adds Mirvac chair Rob Sindel to board

The news: James Hardie has appointed Mirvac chair Rob Sindel as an independent non-executive director, effective 1 June.
The context: Sindel was managing director and CEO of building products group CSR from 2011 to 2019. He has been chair of property developer Mirvac since 2023, and chair of bottle manufacturer Orara since 2020.
James Hardie also confirmed that non-executive director Persio Lisboa has retired from the board, effective immediately, after an eight-year term.
What they said: “I am delighted Rob has agreed to join the board,” said James Hardie chair Nigel Stein.
“He brings extensive experience from executive management and leadership positions, particularly in the construction and manufacturing industries globally. Rob also brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in finance, strategy and M&A integration.”
