JB Hi-Fi non-exec director Beth Laughton to retire after 14 years

The news: Electronics retailer JB Hi-Fi has announced the retirement of long-serving non-executive director Beth Laughton, and appointed former Nick Scali and oOh!media chief financial officer Sheila Lines to the board, starting today.

The context: Laughton first joined the board in 2011 and has chaired the company's audit and risk management committee since 2012. She is also on the board of shopping centre owner Region Group.

Lines will join JB Hi-Fi after stints as CFO of furniture retailer Nick Scali and advertising company oOh!media. She will stand for election at the company's annual general meeting in October and join the audit and risk management committee upon her appointment.
