The news: Treasurer Jim Chalmers has confirmed two new appointments to the Future Fund board.

The context: In a statement on Friday, Chalmers and Finance Minister Katy Gallagher revealed Fiona Trafford-Walker and Adam Tindall as the replacements for outgoing board members Patricia Cross and Deborah Ralston.

Trafford-Walker, who began the role on 12 May, is a former director at Frontier Advisors with 30 years’ experience in financial asset consulting and investment advice.

She was also a non-executive director of the Victorian Funds Management Corporation from 2018 until this month.

Tindall has worked in investment and real estate for over three decades, including in leadership roles at AMP Capital and Macquarie Group.

He will join the Future Fund in September when Ralston’s term expires.

The pair will serve five-year terms.

What they said: “These highly qualified appointees will ensure our sovereign wealth fund can continue its strong record of returns for the Australian people,” Chalmers and Gallagher said in a statement.
