John Ruthven gets promoted to Nuix CEO
The news: Software company Nuix has appointed John Ruthven as its new chief executive officer, effective today, after serving as interim CEO for 12 months.
The context: Ruthven has served as the company’s interim CEO since 3 November 2025, with the board concluding that Ruthven was the preferred candidate for the permanent position based on his performance and skills following a comprehensive search.
What they said: “The board has been impressed with the strategic, diligence and considered way John has embraced the role of interim CEO and how we resonated with our people and customers,” Nuix chair Robert Mactier said.
“The board is unanimous in selecting John as our CEO and managing director, and we look forward to supporting him in driving the next phase of growth at Nuix”, he added.
