Kate Pounder resigns as CEO of Tech Council of Australia
The news: The Tech Council of Australia (TCA) has announced CEO Kate Pounder will step down from the role next month.
The numbers: TCA is the peak industry body for Australia's tech sector, with over 160 members. Pounder has served as the organisation's CEO since 2021 and will formally depart on 2 February.
The context: Pounder has resigned from the role in order to limit her travel commitments and remain in Canberra as she supports a family health related matter, TCA said. Its current head of public policy Ryan Black will act as CEO while the organisation runs recruitment for Pounder's permanent replacement.
What they said: TCA board chair Robyn Denholm said: “Over the last three years Kate has worked tirelessly to ensure that the tech sector has a strong and unified voice on the national stage. She has built a formidable team, bringing together policy, advocacy and building a large and diverse member ecosystem. The Board thanks Kate for her contribution and looks forward to her remaining a close ally of the sector.”
Pounder said: "I hope to continue to champion the industry in a personal capacity and look forward to watching the organisation grow and continue its impact by elevating and championing our incredible tech sector.”
