Kelsian subsidiary Tower Transit Singapore awarded bus contract
The news: Kelsian Group subsidiary Tower Transit Singapore has been awarded a new contract by Singapore's Sentosa Development Corporation (SDC), worth up to $65 million over a 10-year period.
The numbers: Bus and ferry operator Kelsian said the contract will run for an initial five-year term, representing around $27 million in potential revenue. Tower Transit Singapore will operate three guest bus services, five bus services for SDC employees, and a beach shuttle on the island of Sentosa, near Singapore's CBD.
SDC — a statutory board under Singapore's Ministry of Trade — has an option to extend the contract for a further five years on expiry of the initial term.
The context: Bus and maintenance services are expected to commence on 1 October, with the beach shuttle services due to start on 1 January 2026.
Kelsian, formerly called SeaLink Travel Group, said the new contract represents a diversification for Tower Transit Singapore, which has been operating public bus services for the Land Transport Authority of Singapore since 2016.
What they said: "I am delighted that Tower Transit Singapore has been awarded this new contract, as it represents validation of their operational excellence and strong reputation established over ten years in Singapore," said Kelsian CEO Graeme Legh.
