King & Wood Mallesons global CEO to step down
The news: King & Wood Mallesons global chief executive Sue Kench will step down from her Hong-Kong based role at the end of this year, the Australian Financial Review has reported.
Capital Brief has confirmed Kench's departure, with the global role a position that had been expected to wrap up at the end of 2024.
A spokesperson said the law firm would not comment Kench's departure at this stage but said it would make a statement in due course.
The context: Kench was appointed to the role of global managing partner from 1 June 2017, succeeding Stuart Fuller.
At the time of Kench's appointment, KWM said her role would have "a focus on cementing KWM as the leading international firm in Asia", the firm said at the time.
