L1 Group appoints James Allaway as chief financial officer
The news: Global investment management firm L1 Group has appointed James Allaway as its chief financial officer, succeeding Andrew Stannard, effective September.
The context: Prior to his appointment, Allaway served as the chief strategy officer of FleetPartners and was previously an executive director in investment banking at UBS.
Following the transition, Stannard will move into an advisory role before leaving the group in early 2027. Having served as finance director since 2015, Stannard was responsible for overseeing Platinum’s finance and operational functions, as well as integrating the financial operations of the two merged businesses.
What they said: “James brings a rare combination of financial, strategic and operational expertise, with a strong track record across M&A, capital markets and corporate strategy,” CEO Julian Russell said.
